Reflection - Chapter 1

Nethys sighed quietly, hidden away in a corner as she thought back.  This was a tough day every year, and even still, it never got any easier.  "Ten years.  Ten years since I was left a bawling kid in some back alley.  Federation bastards..they weren't even combat for fuck's sake; heroes my ass, no hero worthy of the title would spend ammo on civilians.  Back then I was just a little girl, content with counting stars with her ma, or tinkering on little gadgets with her dad.  However, someone stole that from me, and while I may not be able to steal it back, I can sure as hell even the score." she said, rising to her feet, twirling the thin stiletto-blade around her finger.

"Now, it's time to work." She said to herself, walking to her makeshift work-bench.  She'd been off the radar ever since her parents died; no one on Kamio cared much for orphaned kids these days.  She put the knife away, as she knew Yajyuuni would wake up any moment.  She tilted her head upon nearing the quiet shuffle, "Nethys, you're still up?" The young voice quietly said."Yeah, Yaji..just doing some thinking is all.." she said, giving the young Achuran a tight hug.

Yajyuuni was also orphaned in a similar manner.  She didn't talk about family, and Nethys wasn't the type to pry, it tended to be a touchy subject for children like them.  "Go ahead and get some rest, big sis'll be turning in shortly."  Yajyuuni gave an appproving nod, heading back to her makeshift bed.

Looking over her shoulder to double check, Nethys went back to her plotting.  "Traps are good, targets, variable..though I can't say it feels good going after fellow Caldari, not that they did a good job protecting their citizens.." she said with a scowl, a couple teardrops splashing on the schematics.  Nethys rolled up the plans, hiding them away with her knife, opting to turn in for the night.
